Key Responsibilities

• Research, write, and produce news articles, feature stories, blog posts, and digital content
• Conduct interviews with sources, community members, and stakeholders to gather information
• Verify facts, ensure accuracy, and follow ethical journalism standards
• Cover local events, developments, and relevant issues, especially within Palawan
• Edit, proofread, and revise content for clarity, grammar, and consistency
• Adapt stories for multiple platforms (website, social media, newsletters)
• Apply basic SEO principles (keywords, headlines, formatting) for digital visibility
• Collaborate with editors, photographers, and content teams
• Meet tight deadlines and manage multiple assignments simultaneously
• Stay updated on current events, trends, and audience interests

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, English, Marketing, or related field (preferred but not always required)
• Open to fresh graduates or candidates with 1–2 years of writing experience (freelance or professional)
• Strong command of written English (grammar, tone, and structure)
• Proven writing portfolio (blogs, articles, or published work)
• Knowledge of SEO, content marketing, or digital writing tools is an advantage
• Excellent research, analytical, and storytelling skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines consistently
